MOA
  • Lezen-AM Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and ambroxol which relieve cough. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that treats runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

DOSAGE
  • 1 Tablet, 2-3 times daily or as directed.

STORAGE
  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.

INDICATIONS
  • Seasonal/allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, pruritis, adjunct in asthma management.

MOA
  • Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine receptors. It does not prevent the actual release of histamine from mast cells but prevents it from binding to its receptors. This in turn prevents the release of other allergy chemicals and increased blood supply to the area, and provides relief.

MOA
  • The mechanism of action of fexofenadine is to selectively antagonize H1 receptors on cell surfaces across various organ systems, thereby affecting inflammatory mediators, Compared to other first-generation antihistamines, fexofenadine crosses the blood-brain barrier minimally and does not cause drowsiness.
  • Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose and improves symptoms of allergies.

COMPOSITION

INDICATIONS
  • Nasal and sinus congestion, sinus pain and headache, allergic symptoms of the nose or throat due to upper respiratory tract allergies.

MOA
  • Paracetamol works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclooxygenase. Cyclooxygenase is involved in the production of prostaglandins (chemicals in the body) which cause pain, swelling, and inflammation.
  • Phenylephrine constricts the blood vessels in the nasal mucous membranes and allows the air passages to open up. The majority of the sympathomimetic action is due to direct stimulation of the adrenoceptors.
  •  Levocetirizine competes with histamine for binding at H1-receptor sites on the effector cell surface, resulting in suppression of histaminic edema, flare, and pruritus. It crosses the blood-brain barrier only slightly, reducing the sedative side-effect common with older antihistamines.
